Tuesday Tips: 6 Healthy Change-Ups

Hey! I know it’s been a while, but hopefully you understand why my posting has been a little sporadic with trying to adjust to a new work schedule. Fortunately, I think I’m getting back to something manageable and I get to work 8-4 all week, which means I get off with plenty of time for errands, working out, and of course, blogging. As part of my job, I went to a health fair this weekend to promote the club. It was located at a medical institute, with several doctors lecturing throughout the course of two days. I got to talk ... Progressive Tweet Up Recap

On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to attend the Progressive Tweet Up in Winter Park, presented by FLBLogCon. The event took places at 4 locations (which actually turned into 3) throughout scenic downtown Winter Park, a part of Orlando I hadn’t had the chance to explore yet. 1. Dexter’s The first meeting ground was Dexter’s of Winter Park, a casual yet classy restaurant with great energy and even better food. I only had a chance to sample their sweet potato chips, which were crispy and delicious, but everyone who’d eaten there encouraged me to come back. (Source @professorjosh) I met da ... Read More »

Tuesday Tips: Lunch Break Workouts

Hey! Just to give you a quick update: I’ve been working 6 days a week, and between work and working out, I’ve been spending 9-10 hours at the gym a day. I’m even there on my days off working out. Is that the definition of gym rat? :-/ So please bear with me while I, yet again, figure out a new job/ blogging/ gym routine that fits my crazy schedule. In the meantime, I want to get back to doing the Tuesday Tips, and what more fitting topic for today than fitting in a lunch workout during your busy schedule? ... Read More »

Getting Fitter Every Day

Happy New Year! I wish you and your family a wonderful 2013 filled with health, happiness, friendship and success! In this post, I want to share some news and recap the fitness progress I made in 2012. This year is off to a great start for me, as I’m officially an employee of the best health clubs in the country, LA Fitness! I remember when the first one was built near my house in Miami, I thought of it as a prestigious, exclusive, and luxurious fitness center. Now I’m proud to be a part of a company so committed to ... WIAW: Trader Joe’s and Christmas Dinner

Happy Holidays! I hope everyone has enjoyed their holidays so far and is looking to forward to ringing in the New Year next week. I’ve had a great time and I wanted to share some of my recent foods and festivities. Last weekend, I visited Gainesville to work on packing and cleaning the old apartment, since the big move is this weekend. I hardly put a dent in it, but I did get to visit the recently opened Trader Joe’s in Butler Plaza. I’ve been bouncing up and down at the idea of going since I heard we were ... Read More »

What I’ve Been Up To

Wow! It’s been almost a week since I last posted. I haven’t taken this long of a hiatus since I began blogging. Lots of typing, not so many pictures in this one. Please bear with me. 🙂 First, and most importantly, Troy moved down here and got a job at LA Fitness. I’m so excited that he’s working at the club I spend so much time at already. It’s pretty awesome dating someone who works at a gym because we get to spend so much more time together. Whether he’s working and I’m working out, or we’re both working out, ... Read More »

Super Sickly

Good morning! Not really good for me, seeing as I’m absurdly sick after raving to everyone I know a few weeks ago about how healthy I am and how I never get sick. I take it back! I do get sick! I didn’t mean to tempt some high power to prove me wrong. Since Tuesday, I’ve been sniffly, feverish, nauseous, had no appetite, have a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes, a cough, achy neck and back, and a headache. I think that covers all the symptoms. I tried to convince myself it was just allergies or a cold, but ... Read More »

Workout Plan Planning

I can’t believe we’re a quarter way through December already! I’ve been so busy at work planning strategies and booking clients for the new year that I’ve been inspired to plan a little something for myself as well, in the form of a workout schedule. Tentative of course, since we all know how good I am at sticking to plans. I was working with Whitney last week to come up with a workout plan to reach my goal of 16% body fat safely in 6 months. We can up with a weekly schedule, but I was just having a tough time ... Read More »

Weekend Wrapup: Gone to Gainesville

Good morning! I know I’m a day late for this post, but it feels like a case of the Mondays, so that makes it ok, right? I sort of started my weekend on Thursday, when I was feeling a little restless and decided to get a haircut after work. It’s been so hard for me to commit to a new stylist after having the same person cut my hair in Gainesville for years, plus I experienced a bit of sticker shock after moving to a bigger city.  A coworker recommended a new salon, so I took the plunge and booked ...
