Finally Friday!

Happy Friday! I don’t know about you, but this week has gone by so slow. Maybe it was the fact that my birthday celebration was on a Tuesday, which made the rest of the week seem like it should’ve been a weekend. Who knows? Hey there! I hope you’re having a great weekend so far! Hit My First 5K Goal Time

How funny is it that I spent all day yesterday thinking it was Wednesday? I posted WIAW thinking I was totally ahead of the game, then went for my Tuesday run. Yep. THAT kinda week. Yesterday I hit my goal of running 5K in under 35 minutes! The best part of reaching a goal is setting new ones. The 35-minute time was just my primary goal for my first month of 5K training. Amazing Arms & Back

How sad are you that the Olympics are over? Those two weeks went by so fast, and thanks to Cox promising “full events” on OnDemand and delivering 3-minute highlights of only the American teams, I missed way too much! The only good thing that came from the Olympics ending was the Spice Girls reunion. It amazes me that after over a decade, I could still sing along with every single word. Insanity Update: Fit Test 2

I’ve officially stuck with Insanity for two weeks! Technically, it’s been 3 weeks, but I’ve done two weeks worth of workouts. This is probably the longest I’ve followed a program, mainly because I’m actually seeing results and not getting bored. The first step of Insanity is taking a fit test, where you do as many reps as possible of 8 different exercises for one minute each. Training For My First Race

I finally decided I’m going to run a 5K. I’m going to stop talking about, pre-register, and actually do it. I can’t tell you how many races I “was supposed to” run before, until deciding at the last minute I was too out of shape or not training far enough in advance to be able to run. 3-Day Weekend

What a hectic weekend this was! I can’t believe yesterday was my first day off for non-medical reasons in a year. Cleanse Fail & Cardio Win

Day 1 of the 2-Day Cleanse went well, for the most part. Day 2, not so much. To give myself a little credit, this is the second time I’m doing it, and the first time I stuck with it all the way. Yesterday started out great with breakfast, lunch and my two allotted snacks. After work, I went to the gym and could barely get through Insanity without feeling dizzy or seeing stars. Only one more day till Friday! Sadly, this rain is trying to thwart my weekend plans, and all I wanted to do was find a nice, cool body of water to swim in. I’ve been trying to swim at least once a week, but the pools around here are feeling more and more like bathwater every day. How To: 300 Abs, The Sequel

I’m already sore and beat from Insanity and I’ve only been doing it for two days! I can already tell it’s going to be an intense series and I can’t wait to see my body in 60 days. That’s all I’ll say about Insanity, since I’m sure you’ll be bored hearing about it for the next two months.
